Supporting All Volunteer Emergency Services
A Volunteer SAVES the DAY
About S.A.V.E.S. the DAY, Inc.
S.A.V.E.S. the Day, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to helping the Meadows Valley Volunteer Emergency Services. For the first 6 years, this organization operated under the Meadows Valley Fire District and in 2008, the organization was incorporated and received their 501 (C)(3) status.
The Meadows Valley Ambulance Service and the Meadows Valley Rural Fire District. S.A.V.E.S. the Day hold an annual fundraiser to earn monies for much needed equipment, medical supplies and rescue apparatus as well as provide additional educational opportunities and new volunteer training. In the past 12 years. Over $200,000.00 has gone back into the community by improving the response, safety and quality of the emergency services in Meadows Valley. The purchase of a computer laptop to aid in the response report to the hospital is one example, new helmets for the firefighters is another. Other purchases have included bright yellow safety jackets and safety vests for all volunteers, EMT education of the new volunteers, sponsorship of EMS week at Meadows Valley School, as well as numerous equipment purchases for the station as well as the fire/rescue/ambulances vehicles.
The annual fundraiser, held the 2nd Saturday in June has changed and evolved to keep up with the times and to keep the community involved. The most recent change was 4 years ago, when SAVES the DAY started the Putt for Life. By building portable putting greens and inviting the local businesses to participate we have grown to 18 holes. This sporting event celebrates the uniqueness of the community and embraces the dedication to our Emergency Service Volunteers.
