S.A.V.E.S. for KIDS! A safety awareness event designed to introduce children of all ages to the volunteers and to the importance of Fire and Ambulance agencies in our community. There is an educational benefit to bringing safety education and an awareness of the police, fire, ambulance, air ambulance and forest service fire fighting services in the area. Emergency responders often find that children are afraid and confused as to what might happen to them in an emergency. We can teach our children in fun ways about fire safety, know your address, dialing 911, people in uniform are there to help, and much more.
Emergency response vehicles were also on display with educational tours of the different apparatus. Firetrucks, Ambulance, Forest Service Response Vehicles, Idaho State Patrol and Adams County Sheriff vehicles and St. Als Life Flight helicopter were there. All agencies graciously participated in the game events and educating the children about their job responsibilities and equipment.
All of the events for S.A.V.E.S. the Day were an ideal way to say Thank You to the men and women who volunteer their time, their skills and knowledge, and their heart-felt heroism. For us, in Meadows Valley, they are indeed America’s True Heroes.
